本書由《唐本<傷寒論>》《宋本<傷寒論>》合並而成。 《唐本<傷寒論>》，即唐代著名醫家孫思邈在《千金翼方》中收錄的《傷寒論》。《唐本<傷寒論>》不但含有宋本《傷寒論》的全部內容，而且含有宋本《傷寒論》沒有的多條內容，在《傷寒論》的傳承中有著十分重要的地位。 《宋本<傷寒論>》是宋廷頒布的《傷寒論》標准本，是《傷寒論》傳承過程中一個重要的裡程碑。目前國內高等院校《傷寒論》教材也依此本為底本。
