陳生道，筆名釋玄解妙。 1935年生，河北唐山人。早年畢業於首都師範大學生物系。作者7歲時拜師開灤煤礦武術團武師張有、董會舉為師，開始習武。 1967年又受姚氏太極拳傳人河北遵化汪廣生老先生指導，又經幾十年的不斷研習，對太極拳的發勁有了深刻體悟，遂幾易書稿，寫成《太極拳·蓄勁運氣發勁》，供同仁參閱指導。
