中國傳統曆法有著悠久的歷史、豐富的科學內涵，是古代天文學的精髓所在，也是古代科技的重要組成部分。據統計，中國古代頒行的曆法有五六十部之多，但平均壽命通常只有幾十年。其中固然有政治和社會因素的影響，但主要是因為這些曆法推算不精，行久必差，進而不能適應農業生產及人民生活的需要。
李亮，1986年生，安徽蕪湖人。科學技術史博士。現為中國科學院自然科學史研究所副研究員，從事天文學史研究。著有《明朝科技》（合著）、《歷引三種》（古籍整理）等，發表中英文論文十余篇。
