《米芾蜀素帖及尺牘》創作於宋哲宗元佑三年（公元一〇八八年），米芾三十八歲時，因書於蜀素之上而得名，行書，是他的代表作。縱十九點七厘米，橫百八十四點厘米。書自作各體詩八首，計七十一行，六百五十八字，署黻款。《蜀素帖》明代為項元汴、董苴昌、吳廷等收藏家珍藏，清代落人局士奇王鴻緒、傅恆之手，後人清內府，現存台北故宮博物院。米芾用筆喜「八面出鋒」，變化莫測，正側藏露，長短粗細，體態萬千，全篇用筆大量使用提按頓挫的動作，在正側、偃仰、轉折中展現了他獨特的「刷字」風格。結字左傾，體勢駿邁，然過於好「勢」，「終隨偏之失」（黃庭堅語）。
